1. What This Extension Does

Google Photos - Custom Album Download is a browser extension that lets you download Google Photos albums to your device while preserving their original order. All processing happens locally in your browser.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or have any access to:

• Your photos or videos
• Your Google account credentials or personal information
• Your Google Photos album names, contents, or metadata
• Your browsing history or activity outside of photos.google.com
• Any usage analytics or telemetry

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The extension uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to store the following data exclusively on your device. This data never leaves your browser unless stated otherwise:

• Download queue and progress — media IDs, download status, and retry counts for your current download session. This is used to resume interrupted downloads and is cleared after completion.
• Authentication token — a temporary session token read from the Google Photos page in your browser, used solely to authorize file downloads directly from Google's servers on your behalf. It is never sent to our servers.
• User preferences — settings such as filename formatting options and sort order preferences.
• License information — your license key and a device instance ID issued by our payment processor (see Section 4).

4. License Validation and Payments

The Unlimited license is processed and managed by Dodo Payments. When you activate, validate, or deactivate a license key, the extension communicates with Dodo Payments' servers (live.dodopayments.com). The information exchanged is limited to:

• Your license key
• A device identifier (the string "Chrome Extension") used to track activation slots

No personal information, Google account data, or downloaded files are included in these requests. License validation is cached locally for 24 hours to minimize network calls. Please review Dodo Payments' Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

5. Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• scripting — to run the album scraping logic on photos.google.com
• downloads / downloads.ui — to save files to your device and manage the download shelf
• storage / unlimitedStorage — to persist the download queue and settings locally on your device
• tabs — to open the album overview page to count items before downloading
• alarms — to keep the background service worker active during long downloads
• Host access to photos.google.com — to read album contents and collect media IDs
• Host access to *.googleusercontent.com — to download the actual image and video files from Google's CDN
• Host access to live.dodopayments.com — for license key validation

6. Third-Party Services

The extension interacts with two third-party services:

• Google Photos (photos.google.com, *.googleusercontent.com) — the service you are downloading from. Your use of Google Photos is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Dodo Payments — our payment processor, used only for license activation and validation.

We have no affiliation with Google LLC.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All locally stored data can be cleared at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. Download queue data is automatically cleaned up after each session. License data is removed when you deactivate your license in the Settings page or uninstall the extension.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
